Timber needs to be dried before it can be used. The timber loads are usually mechanically stacked into a batch that is as even as possible. Perpendicular sticks are placed between each layer to allow drying air to flow freely through the load.
This enables the kiln to be filled in a consistent manner and the air circulation to be controlled, thereby producing the desired drying result.
The right height of the load, amount of sticks and placing of sticks must be considered when making stacks. Sticks can be recycled but weak sticks must be removed.
The capacity of stick-stacking line must meet the production volume of sawline and dimension plant to ensure trouble-free process.
